Bridleless Training

v1857

BridlelessTraining

Lynn Palm has made many outstanding world champions through her careful dressage training methods and unique riding ability, but none so celebrated as the famous "Rugged Lark". Besides their impressive four AQHA super horse winds, Rugged Lark's claim to fame has come through a unique performance that Lynn and Lark have displayed to audiences throughout the country. Minus a bridle, the two have brought tears to many as they proudly displayed the ultimate in trust and communication between horse and rider.

Bridleless Training benefits the rider as well as any breed of horse in any discipline. One of the most important benefits is learning to ride from the seat and leg aids and to take away our natural instinct to use mostly the hand aids. You can become a more confident rider by improving your balance through your seat, rather than your hands. This tape provides excellent training for older horses, horses that have problems accepting a bit, or horses that show signs of resistance. Also, you'll learn to "read" your horse and understand where he carries his natural balance.

Using horses in different stages of training, Lynn demonstrates steps that must be followed and carefully evaluated before you advance. Ground training, numerous types of maneuver, and many steps of training are involved in this unique method. The final segment demonstrates the advanced horse, using Rugged Lark to show you the results of training through Love, Acceptance, Respect and Kindness.

This tape can help you mark a new beginning in the relationship you have with your horse. However, always rememberthe many safety tips Lynn uses as an important part of all you do with your riding and training.

Training Young Horses

v1127

Bob Loomis- Program For Training Young Horses

Have you often wished that you could consistently train horses to be quiet, obedient, and well-mannered? Have you wondered if there were any secrets to having a horse that would change gaits and direction willingly, and stop and back, using just a light touch? Well, this videotape won't reveal any “secrets,” but it will show you the winning methods used by World Champion Reiner, Bob Loomis. From initial weaning, when his foals are first halter broke, to exercises as yearling's in the round pen; to first saddling and riding as two-year-olds, arena work, and riding on the trail – Bob will teach you his techniques as used by the assistant trainers on his ranch. Also important to training are the “tools,” and Bob thoroughly details all the equipment he uses, from bits to boots. You'll also be shown how to select a good training prospect, using Bob's guidelines for conformation and breeding.

Not just for reining enthusiasts, this tape will be of use to anyone who is training a horse, whether it be for performance events or for a quiet, dependable mount on the trail.

All over the world, thousands of people have attended Bob Loomis clinics. Now for a fraction of the cost, you can learn to give your horse the same foundation in early training as his champion reining horses!

Ground Driving

v1847

Longevity Training: Ground Driving

PART 6: Ground Driving

After longeing, ground driving is the next step in advancing your horse's ground training. By using voice commands that your horse learned in his "in hand" and "longeing" sessions, he will learn to give to rein pressure while changing gaits through walk, trot and canter, turning, stopping and backing.

For the young horse, ground driving is an ideal way to develop strength, fitness and coordination without the additional weight of a arider. It also establishes the foundation for a successful future under saddle. Additionally, ground driving can be used to soften the mouth of an older horse that has become resistant or unwilling.

In this video, Lynn will discuss how to outfit your horse with the proper equipment for ground driving. Lynn then follows the steps of sacking with lines and dragging them behind the horse until he totally accepts them. Once Lynn begins driving, she will demonstrate patterns to follow and will show how to correct common mistakes.

Because ground driving can be a low-stress form of exercise with great benefits and results, it is an excellent technique that brings variety to your training and will contribute to the longevity of your horse.
