In each of these 5 performances you’ll see this year’s players compete 500 total times for the bragging rights. Martha Josey is the lady and legendary rider who turned barrel racing into the art it is today. The Josey style and winning ways have greatly influenced the fast pace in today's competition arena.

A combination of top equipment, horsemanship and that Josey "Winning Attitude" is what makes barrel racers look to the Josey's for leadership year after year. This tape demonstrates that Josey's attitude, discusses various equipment, basic horsemanship and common problems experienced by barrel racers. Filmed at the Josey Ranch outside Marshall, Texas.

Join Sharon and her students from “Ride the West Horse Expo” in an exceptional educational series combining riding theory, riding demonstrations and student application of Barrel Racing Performance Horsemanship.

Gymnastics for the Barrel Horse – This clinic is an introduction to the use of “Gymnastic Skill Building Exercises” to improve the horse’s ability to move freely forward, lengthen and shorten strides and maintain collection during direction changes. Skills are designed to d3evelope the rider’s position, use of aids, visualization, timing and balance. The Gymnastic Exercises develop mental and physical skills that directly apply to the sport of barrel racing. An increased degree of difficulty can be added as skills increase.

Pattern Work for Consistent Barrel Racing – This clinic demonstrates strategies for obtaining consistent performance. The elements of the pattern are identified and the importance of perfect practice is highlighted. The use of visual aids to assist with obtaining correct positioning during practice is demonstrated.
